Rob Hale returns this season to CVVC as the 17’s Assistant Coach. This will be Robs 6th season with the club and his 12th season coaching juniors volleyball. Rob started in the game of volleyball in college in when several players approached him from the Virginia Tech Men’s Club team to try out at the opening of their 1987 season. From then on Rob has been a part of the game either playing or coaching. Rob’s first coaching position was as an assistant for Kempsville High Schools Boy’s team in 1994. After that initial season Rob became the Head Coach for Green Run High School Boys, which he served for two consecutive seasons. During this time Rob also became USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program Level I (CAP I) certified. After the 1996 season Rob left high school volleyball for awhile but returned as the Head Coach for Kempsville High School Girl’s Team in 2001 and remains as their coach today. Between the 1996 season and the 2001 season Rob decided to get involved with the college game. In the fall of 1997, Rob began his first college coaching job as an assistant at the College of William and Mary, which he held for three seasons. Rob then took a Head Coaching position at Norfolk State University, which he held for two seasons before deciding to get back into the juniors and high school game. Rob currently is Security Chief for the Navy, and lives in Virginia Beach. |
