Congratulations to Frank W. Cox HS in Virginia Beach. The Lady Falcons have moved up again in PrepVolleyball.com's Top 100 Girl's High School National Rankings. They are currently ranked 35th, moving up from 68 in the pre-season poll. (10/18/07)
Tidewater Area Coaches High School Poll: CoastalVA.com compiles votes for the area's Top 10 High School Varsity Volleyball programs. Votes are due each Wednesday by 12 noon. It may take some time to spread the word, but we will continue to compile votes until the end of the high school season. Every head coach of a HS girls team is eligible to vote for the girls top 10 only, every head coach of a boys team is eligible to vote for the boys top 10 only. The Virginian Pilot's poll that comes out each Tuesday will also equal 1 vote. Please email VOTING.COASTALVA@GMAIL.COM with your ballot of top ten teams along with your name, school and record.
Congratulations to Coastal Alumni!!: Through the next several weeks will begin highlighting CoastalVA's collegiate athletes notable news stories. Parents - send in the good news! Last week Lindsay Callahan ('07, JMU) was named CAA Rookie of the Week, leading all freshmen with 3.50 kills per game. This week, Kristen Hager ('05, West Virginia State) has climbed the D2 charts to be ranked 4th in the country with 7.09 digs per game. Congratulations ladies! Posted 10/1/07This week we're recognizing Nicole Shoup ('07, Chowan) and Leigh Badoyen ('03, Eckerd). Nicole is currently listed as #1 in the country in Aces Per Game (1.26) for NCAA Division 2 Colleges. Leigh was recognized this week for breaking the Career Kills Record at Eckerd - a record standing for more than 10 years!

Late Announcement: Contracted in August, our 18s assistant coach, Brandon Duvall has signed on to be an assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan College. Coach Duvall joins fellow Coastal staff members Andrea Hoover (Head Coach) and Morghan Bosch (Assistant) on the Marlins' staff. Congratulations Brandon and good luck Lady Marlins!!

 Don't Mess With {Coastal in} Texas!! The whole club showed up to Dallas ready to play. Knocking off TWO top seeded teams in two separate divisions, including defending USAV Jr. National Champions "Club Long Beach", Coastal (along with several North Carolina clubs) boosted the reputation of Mid-Atlantic and East Coast Volleyball receiving lots of good press. 2007 PVA INVITATIONAL ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM: 16s: Suzanne Lasseigne & Jamie Bartz (finished 2nd); 17s: Amanda Hall & Morgan Heaton (finished 3rd); 18s: *Lindsay Callahan (finished 3rd). *Lindsay was tied for the most votes from the coaches as the Tournament MVP for the 18s division. Congratulations ladies!!!
BOYS NEWS
Tidewater Area Coaches High School Poll: CoastalVA.com will begin compiling votes for the area's Top 10 High School Varsity Volleyball programs. On Thursday, September 27 we will fax a ballot to each of the area high schools (public and private). Every head coach of a HS girls team is eligible to vote for the girls top 10 only, every head coach of a boys team is eligible to vote for the boys top 10 only. Every coach's vote has equal weight. The Virginian Pilot's poll that comes out each Tuesday will also equal 1 vote. If you do not receive the fax through your school by the end of the day Friday, September 28, please email VOTING.COASTALVA@GMAIL.COM for a ballot. This our first shot at an independent coaches' poll, so please bear with us as we give it our best shot. Suggestions are welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS GARY MOORE!!: Long time Coastal coach and Tidewater area volleyball superstar Gary Moore has been selected as the newest member of the Rutger-Newark volleyball family. Beginning with the 2007 Fall season, Gary will be the Women's Head Coach, following up in the Spring 2008 season as the men's program's First Assistant. The women compete in the NCAA Division III (ECAC) and the men compete in the NCAA Division I (EIVA). We expect Gary to be a great addition to the Scarlet Raiders staff!
