Hopefully the high school season is treating everyone well. We won't be able to get out to see all of you, but make the playoffs and we'll all be able to watch everyone in the same place!

While fundraising is not required by Coastal, we do offer several opportunities throughout the year. Our first fundraiser is upon us and it is basically selling ads for our media guide. If you haven't seen our media guide, or don't recall seeing it, we had several copies available in the lobby during tryouts. Similar to your high school football programs, or other sports programs you may have seen, the media guide has a great collection of info about our club including: all teams' rosters and schedules; all coaches bios; and color pictures and brief bios of all the players in our program. The media guide is used by us as a promotional tool to market all of you to the various college coaches we'll speak with throughout the year. Because this benefits everyone in the club, the cost is already budgetted in to EVERY team's expenses. What does this mean to you?? 100% OF ALL MONEY YOU BRING IN GOES TO PAY OFF YOUR PLAYER FEES!

In other words, if you are on a 400$/month payment plan and you sell an ad worth $500 ... you've paid for one month and then some of your dues!!

We also plan to use the ads in a calendar that we'll be selling as another fundraiser later in the season. So, you can tell people that we'll be using their ad THREE times - in the media guide, on our website, AND in a calendar.

Please email your coach to request some Word and Excel files to help you sell the ads. There is a form letter you can edit to send to bigger businesses or to formally request a donation. There is a chart/handout that you can give to everyone you solicit donations from so they know exactly what they're getting. And, there's also a 1 page set of notes: things to remind you to mention or think about when you're trying to sell ads. This is a very good way to reduce your total fee by a good percentage in 3 or 4 hits so put a little effort into it and you'll get a lot out of it.

Please make sure ads are print ready and are noted for their appropriate sizes - if you turn in a business card and it needs to be a full page - tell us! If you turn in a full page ad and we need to reduce it to a 1/4 page - tell us! If you need a (or multiple) media guide(s) to take around to show off, let me know. We still have some left from last season. This is our biggest fundraiser so hopefully everyone can participate and get to people before the holiday rush!! We have a final deadline of December 1, but please get everything in ASAP!!
